Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
