Netflix Selects Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the original manga and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors who will portray the organization to life, such as chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Although Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Given the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this represents a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
