Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
